Development News From Southwest Indiana
Donation will help USI build new study lab
By CAROL WERSICH Courier & Press staff writer, August 9, 2005
A new study laboratory in sales management development is planned at the University of Southern Indiana to help students hone their selling techniques and sales-presentation skills.
Kathy Funke, the university's director of news and information services, said a recent contribution of $25,000 by the Joe Coslett family of Evansville will help turn the plans into a reality.
Joe Coslett formerly owned and operated L.B. Jones Furniture Co.
Funke said the Cosletts' gift will be used for purchasing computers and software for the study area.
The area will be named the Joe Coslett Family Sales Management Development Laboratory, she said.
Preliminary plans call for converting a classroom area in USI's Orr Center into the laboratory.
The total budget amount and the time frame for completing the project is undetermined.
Funke said the proposal calls for the lab's presentation studio to include an LCD projector with video capability and boom microphones
She said a control room for digital recording and video production and editing will be included, along with a graphics production station for producing high-quality color advertising and promotion materials. |
