Huntingburg-based OFS plans to build a new education and recreation center and a new research and development center in Pike County
The office furniture manufacturer hopes to complete the new education and recreation center within the next three years at a cost of $7 million to $8 million. The center would be built on 500 acres in Pike County.

Plans call for the center to educate clients in timber that is native to southern Indiana, including presentations by OFS's in-house forester.

It will also include a guest lodge with a kitchen, dining room and fitness center and a variety of outdoor recreation for clients to choose from when they visit, including a Hummer course, horseback riding and skeet shooting. Boating and swimming will also be available on a 22-acre lake.

The 49,000-square-foot research and development center would be located near the company's headquarters in Huntingburg and be built within the next five years.

It would consolidate the company research, development and product-testing teams into one building. The center is also expected to include new showrooms.
